Herald Coaster, January 16, 1986: Funeral services for Mary Antonio Hanzelka, 66, of Hungerford, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at St. John's Catholic Church, with Father Henry Rachunek officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary services will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, from the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home. She died Wednesday, Jan. 15, in a Houston hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Hanzelka was born on Feb. 16, 1919 in Borden, Texas, the daughter of Julius and Elizabeth Raabe Haas. She married Edwin Hanzelka on Oct. 20, 1941, for the next nine years before moving to Hungerford. Survivors include her husband, Edwin Alois Hanzelka of Hungerford; daughters and sons-in-law, Gladys and Dick Laxton of Rosenberg, and Catherine and Richard Harris of Wharton; son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Shirley Hanzelka Jr. of Rosenberg; four sisters, Minnie Otto of Glidden, Anna Carson of LaMarque, Alvina Otto of Weimar, and Helen Hanzelka of El Campo; one brother, Frank Haas of Solidad, Calif.; and seven grandchildren, Kevin, Diana, and Dana Harris, Dawn Michelle and Robert Meynier Jr., and Amanda and Cris- (Obituary incomplete on Fort Bend County Libraries website)
