The Columbus Telegram (Columbus, Nebraska) 16 Dec 1986, Tue Page 2 Emily M. Kresse , 79, of Brainard, died Monday at Butler County Hospital in David City. Services are at 10 a.m. thursday at Dwight Assumption Church, with Rev. James Cooper officiating. Burial is in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Kresse was born Jan. 29, 1907, at Omaha, the daughter of Charles and Antonia Reiter Houdek. She married Jacob Hotovy at Dwight in 1926. following his death, she married John Kresse at Omaha in 1937. She leaves two sons, Jacob Hotovy of Lincoln and David Hotovy of Omaha; four daughters, Virginia (Mrs. Arthur) Hoffbauer of Brainard, Arlene (Mrs. Ray) Grubbs of Wichita Falls, Texas, Angela (Mrs. James) Kutka and Darlene (Mrs. James) Kutka and Darlene (Mrs. Eugene) Divis, both of David City; 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Houdek of Central City and Jim Houdek of Dwight; and two sisters, Mary Honey of David City and Agnes (Mrs. Louis) Hurt of Ulysses. She was preceded in death by both her husbands and a brother.
