Bio
Charles Dew Davis, age 86, of Palestine, Texas died August 11, 2012 in a local nursing home. Burial in Roselawn Park Cemetery was under the direction of Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. He was born June 20, 1926 at Post, Texas to the late, Grady Davis and Myrtle Goswick Davis. He was a member of the North Jackson Baptist Church. During the Korean War he was a Marine SeaBee. He later was employed as a tool-pusher for W. B. Hinton Drilling Company. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by wife, Deloris Goswick Davis; sons, Samuel and Chauncey Davis; great grand son, Laney Chapman; sisters, Marynell Crawford, Wanda France, and Dortha Reep; and brothers, Grady and Calvin Davis. He is survived by daughters, Cintha Toole and husband Glynn, Reana Caskey and husband Tommy, Yvonne Downing and husband Darryl; and daughter-in-law Nancy Davis; son, Raythan Davis; sisters, Claudine Irwin, Helen Thomas, Lillie Blacklock; fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.
