Bio
Lilly M. Blacklock was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Snyder, TX, to Dew and Myrtle Davis. She passed from this life peacefully on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024. Services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024, at Hudman Funeral Home in Post, TX. Interment followed in Terrace Cemetery. Lilly married C.W. Blacklock on May 18, 1946 in Post. They made Post their home until 1962. At that time, they moved to Spur where they lived until 1968. From there they made their home in Central TX, living in Rockdale, Temple and Caldwell before moving back to Post in 1968. In 2005, Lilly moved to Lubbock to be closer to her children. She made friends wherever she went and continued those friendships until her death.. Lilly is preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Blacklock, her parents, three brothers, Grady, Charlie and Calvin. Also, her five sisters, Dortha Reep, Wanda France, Helen Jo Thomas, and Claudine Ervin; also, one grandson, Jay Williams. A special thanks goes out to the loving staff at The Windmill Nursing Facility in Lubbock and Interim Hospice for all the special care they gave to mom in her final days. A special thanks for Chelsi Gonzales and Courtney Williams from Interim Hospice for taking such good care of our mom. Published in the Post Dispatch October 4, 2024
