Married Mary Homan on February 13, 1899 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Savannah Township, Butler County, Nebr., in a double ceremony with the bride's sister Christina Homan who married Jacob Birkel. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at St. Bonaventure's Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Roch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Luxemburg cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2 p.m. today until the hour of services, at the Gass Funeral Home. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. today at the Gass Funeral Home. ''''''''''''''' The Daily Telegram , July 5, 1949, p. 4, col. 1 Services Held Saturday For Michael Besch Funeral services for Michael Besch, 76, who died June 30 at St. Mary's hospital where he had been a patient for the past five weeks, were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at St. Bonaventure's Catholic church with Fr. Roch saying the requiem high mass. The rosary was prayed Friday evening at the Gass Funeral Home. Burial was made in the Luxemburg cemetery east of Bellwood. Pallbearers were six nephews, Nick Schmitt of Atkinson, Cornelius Schmitt and Joe Schmitt of Osmond, Herman Besch, Clarence Besch and Merwyn Hamm of Sioux City. Michael Besch was born Sept. 10, 1872, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Besch at Kannach, Luxemburg. He came to the United States in 1889, coming to the Luxemburg settlement near Bellwood. He lived for a time in Cedar Rapids and in 1910 he bought a farm near Fullerton where he lived until 1929, at which time he retired and moved to Columbus. He has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Mrs. Crawford Snell, since the death of his wife in 1933. He was married to Miss Mary Homan in 1898 at Bellwood. He was a member of St. Bonaventure church. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Viola Delaney of Fullerton, Mrs. Ann Snell of Columbus and Mrs. Frances Ristau of Omaha; one son, Louis of Nampa, Ida.; nine grandchildren and one great grandson; one brother, John of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Kathryn Schmitt of Osmond; and one brother and one sister, J. Peter and Anna, still in Luxemburg. He was preceded in death by his wife; one sister, Mary; and one brother, Nick.
