ROY - Arlene Hurst Cheever born October 21, 1927 to Arvella Thorne and Winfield Hurst in Zurich, Montana, has peacefully passed away August 5, 2012 at Heritage Park Care Center in Roy, Utah. She was married to Jay Albert Cheever on March 5, 1947 in the Salt Lake Temple. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many positions, especially in the Relief Society Organization. She had a very special love for the sisters and loved serving them. Arlene loved serving as an officiator in the Ogden Temple. She is survived by her husband and six children: Ron (Sheryl), Gary (Gail), Marie Downs (Ron), Jaylene Redford (Steve), Richard (Elizabeth), and Deanne Littlebear, 27 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Park Care Center for the love and care they gave Arlene. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:40 to 10:40 a.m. prior to services at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humanitarian Aid of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment, Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. Ogden.
