Bio

On July 27, 2012, Lydia Dieringer heard the Blue Skirt Waltz, danced into Heaven and into the arms of the Lord and her beloved husband, W.C. Lydia was born April 23, 1919, in Schulenburg, Texas to Valentine and Francis (Krecmer) Cernoch. She attended school in Ammansville and Middle Creek in Fayette County. Lydia met the love of her life, W.C. Dieringer at a dance in Freyburg, Texas. They were married on Oct. 10, 1942. When W.C. was drafted into the army, Lydia remained living with her mother in Dubina. Upon W.C.'s return they moved to Lubbock, Texas where W.C. began his career in the oil fields of West Texas, New Mexico and North Dakota while Lydia stayed busy with her family and their school activities. After 20 years in the oil fields W.C. and Lydia returned to farming in the Fairview and Wall Community where they made many lifelong friends. Lydia worked at Marcella Vacek's Day Care and later in the lunch room at Fairview School. Lydia loved the farm life where she proudly tended to her garden and raised chickens. She canned many jars of pickles, peaches and jelly which was enjoyed by her family. She is also remembered by her family and friends for her homemade bread, noodles and chicken noodle soup. Lydia enjoyed going to polka dances with all her dancing friends until W.C.'s health began to fail. She also enjoyed going to all the grandkids church and school activities.
