Patricia A. "Pat" Meister, 81, of Grand Island, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004 at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be held Wednesday, Sept.8, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Francis T. Curran officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 with family receiving friends throughout the afternoon and evening. A Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. with further visitation following the service until 8 p.m. Burial will be in the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. "Pat" was born July 28, 1923, on the family farm in rural Greeley County, NE, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Trella) Nealon. She graduated from OConnor, NE High School in 1946. "Pat" spent her early adult years helping at Father Rooneys family home cleaning and helping care for the children. On August 23, 1944 she married John A. Meister at Greeley, NE. They farmed and lived in the Greeley area until the early 1950s when they moved to Grand Island and she was employed at the A & W Rootbeer. Later she became the secretary for the Meister Bros. Sand & Gravel Co., working there for many years. The company was owned and operated by her husband and his brothers. She is survived by husband John A. Meister of Grand Island, five sons: John P. (and wife Patricia) Meister, Thomas W. Meister, Frank M. (and wife Donna) Meister, Robert P. Meister, and James A. "Toad" (and wife Tracy) Meister, all of Grand Island, four daughters: Mary A. (Mrs. Ron Garver) of Saratoga, WY, Margaret "Mag" E. (Mrs. John) Iliff of Leesburg, FL, Eileen "Renee" (Mrs. Kerry) McGrath of Hastings, NE, Annette P. Cheever and special friend, John Dugan, of Lincoln, NE, twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren with two more arriving soon, one brother: Don (and wife Leah) Nealon of St. Libory, NE, three sisters: Bette Welch of Santa Clara, CA, Mary Lou (Mrs. Robert) Baker of Grand Island, NE, and Peg (Mrs. Jack) Higgins of St. Paul, NE. "Pat" was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jeanette and one sister, Jeanette.
