OBERKOTTER, MARY E.—Mary Oberkotter was born near Cordor, Mo., August 10, 1877. She died at the Geneva Hospital July 4, 1935. In 1885 she with her parents, moved to her late home near Geneva, Neb. At the age of fourteen she was confirmed in the Lutheran church. She was faithful to that church. She was faithful to that church to the end of her life. Mary lived a life of devotion and sacrifice to her younger brothers and sisters. For years she took care of her invalid brother. Both parents and her brother John preceded her in death. Her brothers and sisters are scattered far and wide: Henry, Burwell, Neb.; Martin, New York City; Amalia, Los Angeles, Cal; Anna, Martha, Lena, Louise, and Florence, Seattle, Wash.; and Alvin, Geneva, Neb. The funeral service was held at St. Paul's Lutheran church south of Grafton Sunday, July 7, and was conducted by Rev. G. W. Mueller. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
