Bio

Arthur Francis Ritchey was born on March 31, 1911, the eldest son of Frank and Edith Ritchey, and passed away at Fillmore County hospital on January 22, 1978. Mr. Ritchey married Alice Keeler of Fairmont and to this union were born three children, Mrs. Lynn (Lila May) Briggs, Arthur Francis Jr. and Allen Eugene. Much of their early married life was spent ranching in Greeley and Wheeler counties in Nebraska. In 1956, he began working at the Girl’s Training School at Geneva, retiring in 1976, to their home in Fairmont. He leaves to mourn his widow, Alice; their three children and their spouses; five grandsons; one granddaughter; one granddaughter-in-law; four sisters, Merna Price, Bernice Geis, Helen Hurst and Mildred Blunk; two brothers, Merlin and Earl; nieces and nephews; numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Farmer & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 25, 1978, at 10:30 a.m., with Clarence Mersch officiating. Burial was in the Geneva Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Hasselman, Russell Snodgrass, Alfred Jorgensen, Alvin Kohler, Dean Willey and Don Best. The Nebraska Signal January 26th, 19783 page 6.
