Bio

Death of Mrs. T. O. Huston – Viella Bear was born at Eliza, Ill., March 6, 1861. She departed this life at her home in Geneva, Neb., Friday, March 8, 1927, aged 66 years, 1 month and 2 days, following a long illness. On September 1880 at her home in Eliza she was united in marriage to Thomas O. Huston. Immediately after their marriage they came to Nebraska and Fillmore county, and located on a farm six miles west of Geneva, where they resided until 1912. The family moved to Geneva, which since then has been her home. To this union six children were born, one of whom, Joseph, preceded his mother in death. She is survived by her husband, five children, eighteen grandchildren, her aged mother, two sisters and two brothers. The immediate survivors are her husband Thomas and children, Mrs. Floy McCashland of Geneva, Neb., Omar Frank of Chambers, Neb., Clarence of New Bouton, Ill., Mrs. John E. Curtiss of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Hubert Price of Sutherland, Neb. Mrs. Huston was a devoted Christian, having been a member of the Methodist church more than forty years. During all that time she has been an active member in the church. Through all the trials of life, whether during the struggles of pioneering days or during the trying years of her invalidism, she was patient, cheerful and hopeful. She was a loving, devoted wife and mother, whose first thoughts were always of her home and family. The funeral was held at the Geneva Methodist church at 2:30 p. m. Sunday, April 10, Rev. H. G,. Langley officiating. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. Those from out of town attending the funeral were Clarence Huston of New Boston, Ill., Frank Huston and three children of Chambers, Mr. and Mrs. John Custis of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Price of Sutherland.
