Piedmont: Fred Garrow Wallace, 56, of Nolan Street, Piedmont, died Sunday, January 5, 1975, after a short illness. Services were Monday, January 6 at 1:00 P. M. at Mickelson Brown-Service Mortuary with Reverend Don Moreland officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery in Hokes Bluff, Alabama. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearlie M. Wallace; three sisters, Mrs. Nora Farrington, Mrs. Mazie Stevens and Mrs. Mavis Hoskins, all of Gadsden; three brothers, Leonard Wallace of Anniston, Thomas Wallace of Gadsden and William M. Wallace of Birmingham; a step-daughter, Mrs. Shirley Haney of Centre; and two step-sons, Douglas W. Scott of Piedmont and O'Neal Scott of Summerville, Georgia. Pallbearers were Douglas Scott, Gary Haney, Randall Maddox, Clayton Maddox, Douglas Haney and Richard Hines. Mr. Wallace was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, the American Legion and lived in Piedmont.
