Daughter of William and Mary (Hollingsworth) Murphy. Married Peter Homan on October 5, 1904 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Center Township, Butler County, Nebr. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' Albion Weekly News (Albion, Nebr.), June 8, 1944, p. 6, col. 1 [ Cedar Rapids Leader-Outlook section] Boone County Resident Since 1904 Passes Away Mrs. Lulu Homan passed away at her home in Cedar Rapids, Saturday, June 3, at 7:45 a.m., after being bedfast a month. Services were held Monday morning from St. Anthony's church at 9 o'clock, Rev. G. Vermuelen officiating at the requiem mass. Lulu Frances Homan was born at Colfax, Ill., April 6, 1884. She was the daughter of William and Mary Murphy. She was married October 3, 1904, at Center to Peter N. Homan. They moved to Boone county the same year and resided on a farm north of Cedar Rapids until two years ago when she moved to town. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away Dec. 24, 1941. Surviving relatives are her three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Faust and Mrs. Walter Swerczek of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Steve Kopecky of Bellwood; nine grandchildren; her father, William Murphy of Greeley; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Aerhart and Mrs. Joe Hilger of Columbus, Mrs. Anthony Racicky of Greeley and Mrs. Anthony Morfeld of Arizona; and three brothers, Jack Murphy of Grand Island, Will Murphy of Alexia and Ted Murphy of Greeley. Those who attended the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Murphy, Bloomington, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hilger, Waterloo, Iowa; William Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Racicky and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Murphy of Greeley; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hilger, Mrs. Gertrude Aerhart, Raymond Hilger and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morgan of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Murphy of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Murphy of Alexia; Mr. and Mrs. William Homan, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Homan, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Cline, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Kopecky, Mr. and Mrs. Emil DeWespelare, Henry Berkel and Ida, Mrs. Lee Bougger, all of Bellwood; Mrs. Christina Berkel and Ernest, and Mr. and Mrs. George Homan of Fullerton, Miss Elizabeth and Francis Weiss of Boelus; Mike Besch of Columbus, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Jensen of Spalding.
