Bio

"Passed Away". The Lehi Banner, Lehi, Utah, February 22, 1894, Page 1, http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn85058090/1894-02-22/ed-1/seq-1/, 24 Aug 2002. "Mrs. Hannah Cox, wife of Edward [F.] Cox, passed away very suddenly last Wednesday night. On that evening after eating a hearty supper, conversing and laughing with the children, she retired at 9 o'clock. After getting into bed one of the children made some move that caused her to laugh heartily and just then she ask for a drink of water but could not swallow it. They then gave her some camphor and ask what was the matter, she said "darting pains in my throat," then gasped a few times and was dead. The whole time from getting into bed until the end came was not five minutes. She was born Feb. 23, 1840 in Lancashire, England, emigrated to this country when one year old and settled at Patterson, New Jersey, came to Utah in 1852, married in 1857 and lived in Lehi ever since. She was the mother of 6 sons and 5 daughters; 7 children survive her. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. She went through all the hard times in the early settlement of this country and died as she lived a good Latter Day Saint. The funeral services were held on Sunday in the Meeting House and appropriate remarks were made by Elders A.J. Evans, Wm. Goats and Oley Ellington."
