Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul Neuberger. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park. Officiating will be Tommy Lane and Rev. David Fox. Services are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home. Edd was born Wednesday, September 14, 1921 in Harrold, Texas, He was the son of the late Charlie Schumann and the late Mary Walbrick Schumann. He married Tillie Kubitz on September 28, 1942 in Lockett, TX. He had moved to Vernon in 1945 after WWII. He served in the US Army from January 15, 1943 to March 23, 1946 European Theater/WWII as Medic/Ambulance driver at Camp Lucky Strike also POW Supervisor of Texas POW Camp for German POWS. He retired in 1985 from United State Postal Service. He was a member of Vernon's VFW, American Legion and loved the Cowboy Church, gardening and 1938 CCC Camp in Veteran, Wyoming; minor league baseball player. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He is survived by His Wife Tillie Schumann of the home. One Daughter, Ann Earley and Husband Dr.Tom Earley of Canton, GA. One Son Ed Schumann and Wife Judge Tam Schumann of Yorba Linda, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Alma Gregory and Edna Ryan, brothers Alvin, John, Gus, Charles, Dan, Walter and Marvin Schumann. Visitation will be Sunday, July 1, 2012 at 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Sullivan Funeral Home. In stead of flowers family strongly request memorials to be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls. Pallbearers will be Gus Schumann, Jr., Franklin "Jake Weiser, Ed Buesing, Willie Kieschnick, Larry Schumann, Rick Jouett, George Randall and Douglas Hobratschk.
