Charles Everett Merideth 86 of Columbia Mo. passed away on June 18, 2012 at his home. Services will be 11a.m. on Saturday June 23, 2012 at Parker Funeral service. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Vistation will be Friday June 22, from 5-7p.m. with a Masonic Service at the funeral home. Charles was born January 13, 1926 in Boone County the son of Eugene and Willis Mae Baumgartner Merideth and they preceded him in death. He was married to Jean Alspaw Merideth for 38 years. He is survived by their six children, Reuben Eugene Merideth of Tuscon AZ. Charles Kenneth Merideth of Kansas City , John Ricky Merideth of Columbia.Gregory Scott Merideth and wife Lisa of O'Fallon, Margie Ann McNary and husband oy of Columbia. He later married Mary Alice Simon and he is survived by her children, Craig Simon and wife Shelly and Matthew Simon fo Columbia. Barb Koczyk o Virginia. and Julie Anderson of South Carolina. In addition Charles is survived by brothers, J.B. Merideth o the state of California. and George Merideth of Millersburg, sister, Mary Jean Arrandale of Columbia. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Jim and Buck Merideth and sisters, Julie Stewart, Maxine Johnson, and Virginia Longmire. Charles was a 1943 graduate of Hickman High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11 along with his five brothers and four brother in laws. He was stationd on the U.S.S. Phoenix. After serving our country he worked as a meat cutter in the Columbia area for 46 years. He adored his 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren all who survive. In his earlier years, Charles looked forward to spending time with his brothers during the annual quail hunting season, and then hunting with his sons as they grew older. Later in life he enjoyed spending time working on the farms raising shorthorn cattle. Charles was a member of the Masonic Lodge and he enjoyed having lunch at the Columbia Senior Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Betty Jacobs Fund which provides support for Hickman High School Students or the Masonic Foundation for Children.
