Bio
Maxine M. Johnson, 90, of Columbia passed away Monday, April 18, 2011, at Boone Hospital Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Maxine was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Boone County to Eugene and Willie Mae Baumgartner Merideth, and they preceded her in death. Maxine enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, but her greatest love was spending time with her family. She is survived by sons William (Bettie) Johnson of Columbia and Larre (Meredith) Johnson of Lacanada, Calif.; daughter Jody (Jim) Ausmus of Centralia; three brothers; one sister; grandchildren Jay, Jeff, Matt and Casey Johnson amd Jeffrey, Jim and Andy Ausmus; and 13 great-grandchildren.
