TIMKEN - Henry J. Pechanec, 95, died Feb. 25, 1995, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse. He was born Jan. 18, 1900, at Schuyler, Neb., the son of Frank and Anna Vondra Pechanec. A Timken resident since 1905, he was a farmer and a Premier Seed grower. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, served on the co-op board at Timken and Bison, belonged to the National Farmers Union, was a lifetime member of the Catholic Workmenand a 3rd-degree Knighl with the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2970, La Crosse. On Nov. 12, 1928, he married Rose T. Vsetecka at Geranium Township, Nebraska. She survives. Other survivors include: four sons, Victor and Stephen, both of Timken, Ivan, Wichita, and Francis, Hays; s daughter, Anita Pechanec, La Crosse; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. Wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, both at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Timken, with Father Ultan Murphy presiding.Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, rural Timken.
