TIMKEN — Rose T. Pechanec, 94, died Nov. 16 at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in La Crosse. She was born Oct. 16, 1909, in Bonov, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Frank and Rose Seda Vsetecka. She married Henry J. Pechanec Nov. 12, 1928, in Schuyler, Neb. He died Feb. 25, 1995. A longtime resident of Rush County, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Pechanec was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Catholic Workman Lodge and St. Ann's Altar Society, all of Timken. Survivors include three sons, Victor A. Pechanec and Stephen C. Pechanec, both of Timken, and Ivan H. Pechanec of Wichita; one brother, Charles Vsetecka of Victoria; one sister, Mary Cecil of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Francis H. Pechanec; one daughter, Anita R. Pechanec; one brother, Frank Vsetecka; one sister, Bessie Swanek; and one great-grandchild. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. Charles Mazouch officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Timken.
