Bio

LA CROSSE - Anita R. Pechanec 45, died April 14, 1995, at Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus, Hays. She was born Aug. 11, 1949, at Hays, the daughter of Henry J. and Rose T. Vsetecka Pechanec. A longtime area resident, she was a 1967 graduate of Bison High School. She attended Fort Hays State College and an Airline School in Denver. She then moved to Kansas City, where she worked for the FBI and part-time at Macy's Department Store. She moved to Timken and was employed by Nuss, Kaufman, Pringle and Nuss Law offices in Great Bend. In 1978 she moved to La Crosse and was presently working as an administrative aide in the medical records department at Rush County Nursing Home. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Anne's Altar Society, both at Timken. Survivors include: mother, Rose Pechanec, La Crosse; four brothers, Victor and Stephen, both of Timken, Ivan, Wichita, and Francis, Hays; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary and wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wedncwsday at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Timken, with Fathers Ultan Murphy and Eugene Kenny presiding. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, rural Timken. Memorials may be sent to the Rush County Emergency Medical Technicians or to Rush County Nursing Home, both in care of the funeral home. Hutchinson News April 16, 1995
