Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent, Tuesday, February 18, 1964: NORTH LOUP - Mrs. Pearle Amanda Shirley, 80, died Sunday at an Ord hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church in North Loup. The Rev. Stanley A. Ganzel will officiate. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, North Loup. Hastings-Pearson Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Shirley was born July 12, 1883, in Illinois. Her parents were Thomas B. and Carrie E. Laseler Lane. She married Rutherford B. Shirley at Ord, April 28, 1901. She came to Nebraska as a child. She lived in Ord for several years and has made her home in North Loup for two years. She was a past president of the Ord DAR and was a member of the Methodist Church at Archer. She is survived by her husband of North Loup; two sons, Dair of San Diego, Calif., and Ted of Blue Hill; five daughters, Mrs. Noda Grabowski of North Platte, Mrs. Opal Beebe of North Loup, Mrs. Pearlie Eberhart of Grand Island, Mrs. Mickey Rightmeier of Gothenburg and Mrs. Beverly Caswell of Franklin; one brother, George Lane of Wadena, Ia.; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Lunney of Stapleton, Mrs. Sadie Bresley of Grand Island and Mrs. Bessie Pollow of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Her parents, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
