Ord (NE) Quiz, Thursday, January 4, 1973, Page 6, Column 5: Ted B. Shirley, 64, died Dec. 22 at his home in Hastings. Mr. Shirley was born July 15, 1908 at Ord and had lived in the Hastings community for the last 15 years. He was a self-employed interior decorator. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Ord and was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous.. Survivors are his father, Ford Shirley of North Loup; five sisters; Mrs. Tony (Noda) Grabowski, North Platte, Mrs. Opal Beebe, North Loup, Mrs. Pearle Eberhart, Grand Island, Mrs. Beverly Caswell, Franklin, and Mrs. Micky Rightmeier; one brother Merle Dair Shirley, San Diego, Calif. And several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted at 10 am, Dec. 27 at Brand-Wilson Chapel in Hastings with Chaplin Howard Franzen and Father Patrick O'Byrne officiating and graveside rites at 12:30 pm at Hillside Cemetery at North Loup. Memorials may be donated to the Heart Fund.
