Married George Eberhart in 1953. Married Roy May in 1979. ~~~~~~~~~~ Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent January 1982 Mrs. Dorothy P. May, 67, of 122 E. 11th died Tuesday at a local hospital after a brief illness. Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mrs. May was born July 24, 1914, in Valley County near Ord, the daughter of Ford and Pearl Lane Shirley. She received her education and grew up in the Ord area and began working as a telephone operator at Archer. She married George Eberhart on June 5, 1953. They moved to Grand Island in 1965. She worked for the telephone company here until retiring in 1975. Mr. Eberhart died in 1970. She married Roy May on Nov. 24, 1979, in Grand Island. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Telephone Pioneers. Survivors include her husband; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ronald (Jolene) Bugay of Columbus and Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Loften of Grand Island; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Antone (Noda) Graboski of North Platte, Mrs. Opal Beebe of North Loup, Mrs. Irvin (Beverly) Mobley of Hastings and Mrs. Gilbert (Micky) Rightmeier of Grant. Also surviving is a nephew, Monte Rouzzo of Grand Island, who had lived with her since he was 2. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
