The Times; Shreveport, Louisiana; 18 Apr 1989, Tue • Page 8 Nelson, James W., 81, of Florien, died Sunday, services at 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, arrangements by Warren Meadow Funeral Home. Mr. James W. Nelson, 81, died at Heritage Manor II in Many, La., on April 16, 1989. Services were held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, on April 18, at 2 p.m., with the Reverends Roy Dowden, and Howard Arnold officiating. Music was by Mrs. Billy Branson. Burial was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include one son, Larry Nelson of Pitkin; two daughters, Madeline Fitzgerald of Stonewall, and Marjorie Savell of Florien; one brother, C. W. Nelson of Florien; one sister, Emma Nelson of Florien; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Lloyd Savell, Billy Byles, Delton Byles, Dickey Fitzgerald, Curtis Prothro, Pat Nelson, Dean Nelson, Cedric Speight. Honorary pallbearers were Lloyd Savell Jr., and Phillip Byles.
