VALLEY — Evelyn M. Gilsdorf, 90, of Valley died Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Golden LivingCenter in Valley. Funeral services will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Humphrey, with Father Damian Zuerlein and Father John Andrews officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey. Evelyn was born Sept. 22, 1921, in Humphrey, to Damian P. and Mary M. (Sueper) Zuerlein. She graduated from St. Francis High School. She married Ervin O. Gilsdorf on June 5, 1946, in Humphrey, at St. Francis Catholic Church. She was a lifetime Humphrey resident, a homemaker and she farmed with her husband. She was a member of the Christian Mother Society and St. Francis Catholic Church and she enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and outdoor activities. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (Sam) Pfeifer, of Omaha; sons, David (Elaine) Gilsdorf, of Humphrey, Robert (Debra) Gilsdorf, of Omaha, Allan (Susan) Gilsdorf, of Omaha, Douglas, of Valley; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Lori) Zuerlein, of Columbus; and sister, Rose Preister, of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin; son, Joseph; granddaughter, Jamie Pfeifer; sister, Margaret Pfeifer; and brothers, Anthony, Paul, Mark, Victor, and Sylvester.
