Bio
Ruth Gates Bradford (1899-1986) was born at Como, Panola, Mississippi. She came to Biloxi circa 1925 to teach in the Biloxi Public school system. In Biloxi, she met Paul S. Bradford (1894-1983), the son of Lyman Bradford (1863-1944) and Pearl Roberts (1869-1928), who was vice-president of the Bradford Company and the Bradford Burial Association. They were married January 27, 1930 and were the parents of Lyman Paul Bradford Sr. (b. 1935) who married Linda Dalgo of Ocean Springs, and an infant daughter who died at birth on April 4, 1940. Ruth Gates Bradford was active in Biloxi's social and civic life. She was a member of Les Masque, a carnival association; the Dogwood Garden Club; American Red Cross Gray Ladies; and the 1st United Methodist Church of Biloxi. Mrs. Bradford passed on August 9, 1986 at Biloxi, Mississippi.
