Bio
Lucy Belle Hunter was the daughter of James W. Hunter and Huldah C. Bradley. She was descended from Bartholomew Hunter who immigrated to the United States from Hunterston, Ayshire, Scotland around 1735. Belle was born on February 16, 1857 in Senatobia, DeSoto (now Tate) Co, MS. She married Benjamin Parker Gates in 1877 in Panola Co, MS.
