Per the document Colorado Mining Fatalities 1844-1981, Frederick Beach was the victim of mining accident while working as a Trapper Boy in Coal Creek Mine # 2, owned by Colorado Coal & Iron Co. ∼ FIFTH BIENNIAL REPORT OF THE STATE Inspector of Coal Mines of the State of Colorado for the years 1891 and 1892: September 12 —Frederick Beach (a trapperboy), found dead hanging to a rope. It is supposed he accidently hanged himself while playing with a rope; accident occurred at Coal Creek mine No. 2, Colorado Coal and Iron Co., Fremont county.
