Texas Coaster, March 24, 1949: Mrs. Frances Kasparek, age 73, passed away at the Fort Bend Hospital Wednesday, March 16, at 11:45 a.m. She was born on May 15, 1875 at Nelsonville, Texas. Mrs. Kasparek is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Fannie Gates of Houston, Mrs. Winnie Dedek of Houston, Mrs. Clara Radar of Houston, Mrs. Anne Slovacek of Houston, Mrs. Valasta Zemanek of Newgulf, and Mrs. Tillie Vanecek of Sinton, Texas; two sons, Gilbert Kasparek of Houston and John Kasparek of Needville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Baethe of Waller; and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Kasparek were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Needville Methodist Church in Needville, with Rev. W.A. Menking officiating. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery. Pallbearers were Paul Demel, G.A. Kunel, Richard Lehman, August Teykl, John Otto, Melvin Kettler, E.H. Tielke, and Charlie Stavinoha. Foerster Funeral Home was in charge of the service.
