Rosenberg Herald, May 2, 1941: Mrs. Rose Baethe, nee Bacica, was born on the 28th day of September 1872 in Nelsonville, Texas. As a young girl, she married Mr. Charles Baethe. After their marriage they moved to Waller County where they lived for 15 years. Their union was blessed with nine children, five sons and four daughters. Four sons preceded the mother in death as did also her husband. Three of the boys died in infancy and one was twenty-one years old when he died. Later she married her second husband, Mr. Joe Dukatnik. This second union was blessed with two daughters. In 1924, she moved with her children to Fort Bend County, where she remained until death transplanted her into the other world. She died Monday morning at 3 o'clock in the Fort Bend Hospital and reached an age of 69 years and 7 months. Mrs. Baethe leaves to mourn her departure, one son, Frank Baethe; six daughters, Mrs. Rose Garbs, Mrs. Lillie Hurta, Mrs. Tillie Mikeska, Mrs. Adela Svec, Mrs. Albina Srubar, and Mrs. Irene Krause; 16 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. J. Kasparek of Needville and Mrs. Mary Baethe of Austin; one brother, Mr. John Bacica of Needville; and other relatives. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. R. Vilt, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Needville, Tuesday at 1 p.m. Burial took place in the Needville Cemetery. The Foerster Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. May she rest in peace and our heartfelt sympathy goes to the bereaved families.
