Herald Coaster, February 6, 2001: Funeral services for Walter Bremer, 67, of Needville, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School St. in Needville, with the Rev. George Kuebler officiating. Burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Wittneben, John Jordan, Ozzie Stroughall, Cliff Dusek, Tommy Matthews, and Darren Wittneben. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, and from 8 a.m. until service time Thursday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 3103 School St. in Needville. Mr. Bremer died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. He was born Dec. 1, 1933 in Needville to Erich and Emma Bremer. He was retired from BASF Corporation. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Wittneben Bremer of Needville; a son, Michael C. Bremer and his wife, Lois, of Sugar Land; grandchildren Craig and Amy Bremer; his mother, Emma Tielke Bremer of Needville; a brother, Larry Bremer and his wife, Gail, of Milwaukee, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Erich Bremer, and a brother, Floyd Bremer. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 570127, Houston, Texas, 77257. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors in Needville.
