Bill Long, St. Maries, Idaho Graveside service for Bill Joe Long is planned for 11 a.m. today at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries, Idaho, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Long, 72, died Friday. He was born in Waco, Texas, and was raised near El Paso, Texas. He farmed throughout the state of Texas and then enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941. After his discharge in 1953, he moved to Oregon and worked for the Forest Service in area lumber mills. He was a member of the Sacramento Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Long married Mrs. Myrtle Ryle in 1963, and they made their home in St. Maries. He owned and operated the Golden Eagle Tavern in St. Maries for 25 years. He retired and gave the business to his stepson. Mrs. Long died in 1984. Survivors include two step-sons, Ron Ryle and Robert Ryle, both of St. Maries; a brother, Tom Long of St. Maries; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
