Final Rites for Paul Anliker, 48 Services for Paul F. Anliker, 48, of West Bend, were held Tuesday, September 18, 1964, 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in West Bend, with Father Louis Greving officiating. Burial was in the West Bend Cemetery. The Schellhammer FUneral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Honorary bearers were: Keith Shellmyer, Virgil Enockson, Norbert Zumach, Ed Elbert, Sam Stucky, and Francis Mullin. Casket bearers were: Howard Wood, Don Schafer, Victor Bargman, Ronald Girres, Harry Bonnstetter, and Ronald Sanculi. Paul Franklin Anliker was born February 14, 1936 at West Bend, Iowa the son of Noah and Elizabeth Anliker. He was raised and educated in West Bend, graduating from West Bend High School in 1954. Paul worked for his brother Ray in the West Bend Grocery Store from the age of 14. On August 20, 1960, Paul was united in marriage to JoAnn Welp at Bancroft, Iowa. The couple settled in West Bend, where in 1962, they purchased the West Bend Grocery Store. Paul and JoAnn sold their grocery business in West Bend in 1977, and then purchased the Zumach Grocery Store in Whittemore, Iowa in 1980. Paul F. Anliker passed away September 15, 1984 at his residence in West Bend, reaching the age of 48 years. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn; children: Jay M. Anliker of Des Moines; Jeff J. Anliker, Debra A. Anliker, Diane M. Anliker, and Patricia A. Anliker, all of West Bend; 1 grandchild; father, Noah Anliker of the West Bend Care Center; brothers and sisters: Earl Anliker of Plain, Wisconsin, Raymond Anliker of West Bend, Iowa; Daniel Anliker of Mediapolis, Iowa, Irene Rick of West Bend, Iowa, Rachel Fuller of Humboldt, Iowa, Leona Lanus of Algona, Iowa; Hazel Moser of Morris, Minnesota; and Esther Steil of West Bend, Iowa. Paul was preceded in death by his mother, 1 brother Richard, and 2 sisters Alice and Helen. Paul was a member of the Knights of Columbus, West Bend Fire Department for 18 years, and retired assistant fire chief, Honorary member of the FFA of West Bend, and at the time of his death was President of the Whittemore Community Club.
