Greenville (Texas) Herald Banner, Tue, 3 Jan 1989, page A2, Deaths, Herschal Havens LEONARD - Funeral services for Herschal Andrew Havena, 76, of Leonard will be at 11 am today at First United Methodist Church under the direction of Rev. Lois Cooper and Rev. Jim McIntire. Burial will be at Leonard Cemetery, Mr. Havens died Monday at an Arlington hospital. He was born April 22, 1916, in Blue Ridge to Arie Brake and Laura Lee Simmons Havens. He married Jimmie Lou Woodruff in Greenville on Ort. 26, 1933. A retired farmer, he also served with the Texas National Guard. Survivors inlcude (sic) his mother, Mrs. Laura Havens of Garland; a son, James Larry Havens of Grand Prairie; a daughter, Sue Carol Sheridan of Garland; two brothers, Hal Havens and Hulen Havens, both of Dallas; two sisters, Haze! Blackshear of Mabank and Helen Hall of Garland; four grandchildren. Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
