Bio

Leauritta Frances Rhoades, the two and a half year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Rhoades, living about three and a half miles southeast of Keota, died after a serious illness of peritonitis for several weeks, on Tuesday evening, October 26. 1915. Funeral service was held from the schoolhouse on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Jones officiating. Four little girls, Mildred Rhoadarmer, Ellen VanHoosen, Helen and Floris Pegg, acted as pall-bearers, interment being made at Keota cemetery. This little life though of but few months has not been in vain. This sweet, gentle, unassuming child was loved by all who knew her. The vacant chair, the absent face fills our hearts with longing to meet again where partings are not known. Though our hearts are sorely rent by this bereavement, may it add one more link to the strong chain that binds us to the great beyond. -The Keota News, Volume 5, Number 24, October 29, 1915
