Eileen M. "Ikey" Rowe, 79, of St. Paul died Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul. Ikey was born September 12, 1932 in Dannevirke, NE to William and Clara (Samuelson) Starkey. Ikey attended rural schools near Dannevirke and then St. Paul School where she graduated in 1951. She was united in marriage to Buddy Rowe on December 23, 1951 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in St. Paul. During their early married life they traveled to various communities in Nebraska while Buddy worked for Albert Neitfelt hauling gravel. Later Ikey worked for the Whale Café, Nesiba's Café and then at the Coast to Coast Store, all in St. Paul. She then worked at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island and then at Heritage Living Center in St. Paul. Ikey liked playing bingo and watching the western channel on television. She was an avid Nebraska Husker fan in all sports and Atlanta Braves fan. She also had done a lot of quilt work. Ikey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in St. Paul. Survivors are: sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Jacquie Rowe of Westminster, CA, Rod Rowe of St. Paul and Rusty and Kim Rowe of York; daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Tony Trump of Waverly; seven grandsons and four granddaughters; two step grandsons; four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. Ikey was preceded in death by: parents; husband, Buddy on April 21, 1994; brother, LaVerne Starkey; and sisters, Lucille Graus, Dorothy Ambroz, Leila Hansen, Betty Smith and Bernice Grammar. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery, St. Paul, NE.
