Edna F. Chilek Mrs. Rudy Chilek of Yoakum, nee Edna Chilek, died at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 1980 in Lavaca Medical Center at Hallettsville. she was 77 years, 1 month and 26 days of age. Rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m. in Buffington Funeral Home Chapel, Yoakum, where the body lay in state. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, near Yoakum, with the Rev. Al Padalecki officiating. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery. Mrs. Chikek was born Jan. 5, 1903 in New York, and was an adopted daughter of Valentine and Emilie (Koliba) Chilek. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Herman (Dorothy) Mylius, Jr. of Yoakum, Mrs. Marvin (Rose) Rothbauer of Moulton, Mrs. Louis (Lorene) Matula of Ezzell, Mrs. Edna Mae Bradley of Magnolia and Mrs. Helen Jalufka of Victoria; a son Rudy Chilek, Jr. of Yoakum; a sister, Sister M. Gabriel of Weimar; a brother, Felix Chilek of Shiner; 27 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 21, 1950.
