Bio
Mrs. Alfonse A. Hartl, nee Annie E. Chilek, of Route 2, Shiner, died at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 1977, at her home in the Dreyer community at the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 6 days. The funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 1977, at St. Ann's Catholic Church near Yoakum, with the Rev. John Peters officiating. Interment was in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery. Among the pallbearers named were Joe Koliba, Jr., Frank F. Hartl, Gilbert Adamek, and Sylvester Chilek. The rosary for Mrs. Hartl was recited on Thursday evening at Buffington Chapel in Yoakum. Mrs. Hartl was born on June 3, 1907, in DeWitt County, daughter of Val and Emilie (Koliba) Chilek. Survivors include her husband, Alfonse A. Hartl; a son, Anthony; a brother, Felix Chilek; and four grandchildren, all of the Dreyer community. Other survivors include two sisters, Edna Chilek of Hallettsville, and Sister M. Gabriel Chilek of Floresville.
