Bio

YOAKUM - Dorothy Ann Mylius, age 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 21, 2015, with her family at her side. She was born on January 26, 1930, in Lavaca County, to the late Rudolph and Edna Wentworth Chilek. She was a devoted Catholic and lived her faith by serving her beloved family. She was a devoted caregiver of her son Ralph for 56 years. She loved dominoes, dancing polka and waltzes, baseball, and Johnny Cash. Survivors are her children: Daughters, Nancy Mylius, Wanda Mylius, and Sherri Mylius, all of Austin, Debra Mylius of Buda, and Pamela Mylius Anderson of Wimberley; sons, Jerry Mylius (Bonni) of Austin, Ralph Mylius of Austin, and Paul Mylius (Dottie) of Yoakum; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Rosie Rothbauer (Marvin) of Moulton, Lorene Matula of Ezzell, Edna Mae Bradley (Robert) of Magnolia, and Helen Jalufka of Victoria. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman Mylius Jr. who passed away in 1988; infant daughter, Catherine Ann Mylius; sister, Clara Kasparek; and brothers, Jerry and Rudy Chilek Jr. Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015, at Thiele Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Rev. Matthew Huehlefeld. Burial at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. Ann Catholic Church. Arrangements by Thiele Cooper Funeral Home, (361) 293-5656. Victoria Advocate, Friday, May 22, 2015.
