Bio

Rosary service for Regina Shelton, 95, of Lubbock and formerly of Slaton and Carlsbad, will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in Englunds Chapel with Deacon Randy Canale. A celebration of life service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Christ the King Cathedral with Msgr. Ben Casteel officiating. Internment will follow at 4 p.m. (MDT) in Carlsbad, N.M. Sunset Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Regina was born in Lindsay, Texas on December 22, 1916. She passed from this life Sunday, February 19, 2012 surrounded by her family. She moved to the Slaton area in 1927 where she attended St. Joseph Parochial School. Regina later moved to Carlsbad in 1934 where she met her future husband. Regina Mosser married Joe Shelton on May 27, 1944 in Oxnard, Calif. Joe preceded her in death on November 21, 1988. Regina continued living in Carlsbad until April 2005 when she moved to Lubbock to be with her family. She was a member of Carlsbad's St. Edwards Catholic Church and a charter member of their Catholic Daughters of America. She was a homemaker. Regina has been preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard in 1980, Walter in 1985, Alvin in 1991, Jimmy in 1993, Alvis in 1994, and Hugo in 2010 and sister, Isabelle Mosser in 1935. Her survivors include her son, Mike Shelton of Lubbock; brothers, John and Paul both of Lubbock and Cecil of Slaton; and sisters, Alvira Kayser and Keta Gaither both of Lubbock and Dorothy Burton of Coppell.
