LUBBOCK-Rosary service for Alvira Kayser, 94, of Lubbock and formerly of Amarillo will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Englunds Chapel. A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in Christ the King Cathedral. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Amarillo's Llano Cemetery. Alvira was born in Lindsay, Texas, on Sept. 28, 1919. She passed from this life on Sept. 30, 2013. She moved to Slaton as a child. Alvira was a member of the Harvey House girls before she married Carl B. Kayser in 1941. Carl preceded her in death in 1992. They moved to Amarillo in 1971 from Lubbock, and she returned to Lubbock in 1999. She was a member of Christ the King Cathedral. Those who survive her include her children, Carl Kayser, Donald Kayser, Debra Halencak, Barbara White, Pat Kirby; siblings, John Mosser and Paul Mosser, Cecil Mosser, Kita Gaither and Dorothy Burton; along with 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
