Daughter of George & Mary (Brown) Hibnes. Married to Lee Johnson. Grand Island Independent, The (NE) - Friday, January 9, 2004 Evelyn Johnson, 95 BURWELL -- Evelyn Johnson, 95, of Sandhills Manor in Broken Bow and formerly of the Arcadia-Burwell area, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Sandhills Manor. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Burwell. The Rev. Marty Robbins will officiate. Burial will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent is in charge of arrangements. She was born Aug. 26, 1908, to George and Mary (Brown) Hibnes in Ochiltree County, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Fowler of Arcadia; a son and daughter in law, Ken and Dot Johnson of Burwell; two sisters, Doris Cronk of Sidney and Mildred Brenneman of Ainsworth; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Johnson of Burwell, Roine Johnson of Holdrege and Vera Hibnes of California; and a brother-in-law, Harry Heitzman of Hardin, Mont.
