Mrs.Annie Shumbera,a daughter of John and Marie Tumis, was born in ?tatimove,Czecho-slovakia,July 23,1853,and was 79 years,8 months and 6 days old at time of death. In the year 1872 she was married to Mr.Anton Shumbera. They came to America Oct.31,1881,first settling in the Bluff community,in Fayette county;later moved to Ammannsville, and then to Live Oak Colorado county. To this union were born eleven children-eight sons and three daughters. Two sons died while the couple lived in Europe.Nine children are, still living, all of who are grown and married. The funeral will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the residence of Mr.Hudec. She was buried in the Weimar Masonic Cemetery by the side of her late husband who preceded her in death some thirteen years ago.In the presence of a large crowd of relatives and sympathizing friends.Rev.Vilt of Needville officiated in a touching burial service. Pall bearers were Messer.Frank Janecka,V. Kusey,B. Pokorny,Rudolf Mozisek,Ignac Trefny and Frank Krejci. Thoughout her life Mrs.Shumbera ever proved herself to be a devoted wife and mother,a true friend and the best of neighbors. She was devoted to her family, raising a large family of splended sons and daughters who are to a credit to her and who stand deservedly high in the communities in which they reside. She was always glad to assist her neighbors and friends in every way possible, and in this way endeared herself to all with whom she came in contact. She will indeed be greatly missed by family and friends wherever she was known. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to her bereaved ones. (Condensed) Weimar Mercury,April 7,1933,p.1
