Bio

Agnes Horak, 94, passed away at Legend Oaks Nursing Home in Ennis on December 17, 2011. Agnes was born in Crisp, Texas on December 22, 1916 to Theodore and Josephine (Knize) Dlabaj. She attended school in Telico, Crips and Creechville. She married Joe M. Horak on January 14, 1936 in Ennis and they made their home in Alma, Texas where whe was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. In 1951, they moved to Ennis. For several years she worked as a seamstress. Agnes was a lifelong member of St. John Catholic Church, a 75 year member of K.J.Z.T. Society #16 and a member of R.V.O.S #51. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Her faith in God was a souce of strength and comfort throughout her life. She is survived by one daughter, Alene Eggers; grandchildren, Judy Benavides and her husband David, Michael Horak and his wife Natalie and Suzanne Bacile and her husband Michael; great grandchildren, Katie and Molly Benavides, Anton and Christina Horak, Angela and Ben Bacile; daughter-in-law, Antoinette Horak; brother Bill Dlabaj; sister, Janie Nemic and several nieces and nephws. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Josephine Dlabaj; husband, Joe M. Horak; son, Jodie Horak; brother, John J. Dlabaj; sisters, Josephine Krajca and Annie Houser. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM with a Rosary at 7PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church with Father John Dick celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Horak, David Benavides, Michael BAcile, Leonard Dlabaj, David Dlabaj and Eugene Krajca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Catholic Church or St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis. Visitation Tuesday December 20, 2011, 6PM - 8PM Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home - Ennis.
