Our beloved "Granny Annie" earned her heavenly reward at the age of 105 years. She was born in Schulenburg, Texas, to Jacob and Mary Jupe Zotz. She moved to San Antonio at the age of seven with her two oldest siblings following the flu epidemic of 1918, which claimed the life of her mother and grandfather. The four younger siblings went to live with other relatives. Her father later married a widow who had four children and together they had three more children for a total of 14. She attended school for approximately six years, helped her father in his store, and later became a companion and caregiver for a young girl with special needs. In her early twenties, she married Ferdinand John Burket, III, who was a fireman with the City of San Antonio for 40 years. After marriage, Anna worked as a comptometer operator for the business department at Joske's of Texas but left her position to join the war effort. She trained and repaired aircraft at Kelly Field during World War II ("Rosie the Riveter"). Following the war, she continued working at Kelly AFB and became a computer supervisor. After a thirty year career at Kelly, where she won numerous awards for her innovations, she retired and became a volunteer for the DAV, Audie Murphy Hospital, and the San Antonio Retired Police and Fire Department Pension Fund. She was preceded in death by her parents, thirteen brothers and sisters, her loving husband, Fred Burket, and all of her sisters and brothers-in-law. She is survived by her two sons and their wives, Ferdinand John Burket, IV (Ferd) and wife, Glynda Ray Burket, son, James Louis Burket (Jim) and wife, Carol Tondre Burket. She was blessed with five grandchildren, Ferdinand Burket, V (Melissa Doss), Lea Ann Lake (Michael), Beth McIntryre (Spencer), Dana Burket (Darin Darby), and Jayme Koltsov (Stas). She was additionally blessed with nine great grandchildren, Josh and Jake Burket, Landon and Lucas Lake, Morgan and Mitchell McIntyre, Kyle Kloza, Bryce and Shayna Bolton, and two step-great-grandchildren, Christina and Zachary Darby.
