Bio

Obituary Gonzales Inquirer Oct. 20, 1988 Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 18, at 3 p.m. from the graveside in the Odd Fellows cemetery for M. C. Vackar, who died in a McAllen hospital Friday afternoon. Dr. J. Donald Corley will officiate at the graveside services with Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Vackar of McAllen was born in Gonzales on July 25, 1915. He was the son of Charles H. and Mary Julia Fishnar Vackar, natives respectively of Lavaca county and Old Washington on the Brazos. He was married to Noble Holzinger and was a member of the Presbyterian church. He attended A&M University, served with the U.S. Army in World War II, was employed with the old Grant Lumber Company in Gonzales prior to Zmoving to Edinburg in 1945 where he established and operated the Vs kar Lumber Company for 30 years. In 1984 he retired and moved to McAllen.
