Bio
Willie's parents were William Walter "W.W." Jones and his 1st wife, Mary "Mollie" Layton, who were married in Lawrence county, AL, 23 Sept 1860. Mollie and 2 infant twin daughters, Ida L and Mollie F (b. 1870), died in AL of disease in 1873. Then, according to his Confederate Pension application, W.W. Jones moved his family - daughter Willie & sons James B. (b. 1861), John Walter (1867-1899) & Robert Lee (1870 - 1943), to Williamson county, TX in Feb. 1876. Along on the trip with the Joneses was W.W. Jones' ex-brother-in-law Granville M. Layton and family. Granville was a brother of W.W. Jones' 1st wife, Mary "Mollie" Layton. Willie married John Wesley Magee in Williamson county, TX 13 Jan 1881. The following year W.W. Jones married his 2nd wife, 22 year-old Mattie Winnie Davis (daughter of Presbyterian minister David J. Davis), on 16 Nov 1882, in Williamson co., TX. Willie and John Magee had 13 children and then divorced about 1910 - 1913, probably in TX.
