Bio

Antonia Stejskal Maly was born in Moravia in 1845. She was united in marriage to Anton Maly Oct 10, 1873 in Moravia. She had 1 child named Anton born in 1869 that died in 1872. She came to America with her husband in 1874. Anton and Antonia took in her brother Johns son, a nephew named Jan (John) Styskal. She raised him like her own and he died of TB in his twenties. It remains a mystery why John didn't have anything to do with his son, nor was he even mentioned in his obituary. On John Jr. Grave it says Maly. Passing of Mrs. Anton Mally She Died at Her Home in Franklin Township December 7 Following illness of less than a weeks duration, from heart trouble, Mrs. Anton Mally passed away at her home in Franklin township Sunday morning, Dec. 7, at 7 o'clock. She is survived by her husband. There are no children. Mrs. Mally was born in Chtepkof, Moravia, June 13, 1845. Her maiden name was Toney Styskal. She was the daughter of Frank and Antonia Styskal. In 1871, three years before coming to this country, she was married to Anton Mally. Mr. and Mrs. Mally resided on a farm in Franklin township, land they bought in an early day and which has been their continuous residence. It was there that Mrs. Mally passed away, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 24 days. Besides her husband, Mrs. Mally leaves three brothers, John, Mike, and Anton Styskal. Her oldest brother, Frank, died seven years ago. Mrs. Mally was of the Catholic faith. The funeral services will be held on Saturday morning, Dec. 13, in the Appleton church. Interment will be in the Appleton cemetery. Notes: She wasn't born in Chtepkof, Moravia. (They meant Stepkov which is right next to Domamil. She was also not born on the date suggested in the obituary. It clearly says on the birth record May 30, 1845.
