Was Oldest Man in County Frank Styskal, aged 96 years, died last Friday evening at 9:30 o'clcok in the house of his daughter, Mrs. Anton Mally, at Appleton. Death was due to a bladder trouble brought on from his advanced age. He had been sick onlu 3 1/2 weeks. Mr. Styskal was known to be the oldest man in Butler County. On Sunday morning at 11 o'clock in the Appleton Catholic church the funeral was held. Rev. Father Zalud of Bruno conducted the services. Burial was in the Appleton Cemetery. Four children survive Mr. Styskal. They are John and Anton of David City, Mike Styskal of Franklin township and Mrs. Mally. One son is dead. Mrs. Styskal departed this life eight years ago, at the age of 88 years. Mr. Styskal leaves several grandchildren and some 30 great- grandchildren. Since 1874, Mr. Styskal had been a resident of Butler County. Shortly after coming here he purchased land in skull creek township and he had lived there from then on until the time of his death. He was born in Moravia, Austria, on February 13, 1820. Mr. Styskal had always enjoyed unusually good health and it was only in the last few years that he was unable to do any of the work about his farm. He was a life-long member of the Catholic church. Notes: He wasn't 96 when he died, he was 94.
