Leonard C. Nawara, 82 of Houston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2011 after a courageous six year battle with Multiple Myeloma. He is survived by his children, Pamela Thompson and husband Jimmy and Mark Andrew Nawara; granddaughter, Jamie Michelle Norman and husband Paul; great-granddaughters, Madeline and Emily Thompson; sister, Anne White; brother, Nelson Nawara and wife Marceil and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 5 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home, 9926 Jones Rd., Houston, TX 77065. A visitation will also be held from 11:00 am until service time on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon at the Garden Oaks Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Jim Daniels officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston at 2:30 in the afternoon where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Joy.
